Clean Eating Challenge – Day 5 1


I’m still struggling to get the protein to fat balance right – it seems that almost everything high in protein is also high in fat.  I didn’t know eggs had just as much fat in as protein!

Breakfast

A few rashers of bacon and some left over sweet potato mash.  Attempting to get more carbs in first thing in the morning

Snack #1

My usual greek yogurt and berries.

Lunch

Turkey, sweet potato, butternut squash and spinach.  There’s a way of cooking spinach such that you can easily stomach 100g in one sitting – I’ll post about that soon.   It would otherwise be a mountain!

Snack #2

Cottage Cheese with Mango.  Also, some friends at work were eating chicken and had a spare drumstick. It was from morrisons rotisserie bit – so was probably the lowers of the low grade chickens, but I was hungry!

Dinner

In an attempt to use up the left over rice I cooked to try to eat for breakfast a day or two ago – it was cooked up with some green lentils and bacon and sausage was added.  Whilst it didn’t look wonderfully appetising, it was actually quite nice!

The Gauntlet – 19:30 – 21:00

Quite a horrible (or great, depending on how you look at it!) session at H3 Performance this evening.  Lots of lifting!  The format was  3 lots of  15 minutes working with a partner taking it in turns to do the sets.  The sets were in the format of 3 x 10 barbell exercises of some sort, then a run around the block.

Snack #3

There was more lentil stuff that needed eating – so I had that.  I should blog a recipe for that really.
